How does Zlora make money?

We take a percentage of the savings we actually get you. If you switch providers anyway at the same price or higher, a flat $10 fee applies instead of a percentage. If you're a first-time buyer with no prior bill to compare against, the fee is instead 20% of the first month's accepted payment (minimum $20) — since there's no "before" number to measure savings from. For car purchases, the fee is a percentage of what you saved off the vehicle's MSRP. Nothing is ever charged if you don't accept an offer.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Yes, within a set window after acceptance — see the grace period described in our Terms. Request one from your case in Review Offers, and it'll be reviewed and issued back to your original payment method.

How is this different from just calling my provider myself?

You still can — Zlora doesn't take that away. The difference is Zlora contacts your provider and real nearby competitors at the same time, and uses the competing offers as leverage — something that takes real time and effort to do yourself.

Can I see everything Zlora does on my behalf?

Yes. Every round of a negotiation is logged and viewable. During the negotiation itself, providers show up as "Provider A/B" rather than by name — that's intentional, to keep the decision about the number, not the brand — but you can always see the full history, and the real name is revealed the moment you accept an offer.

What if I don't like an offer?

Decline it, or send a rebuttal with your own counter-number, right from the offer review screen. Nothing is accepted without you — unless you've specifically turned on fully autonomous mode for that negotiation.

What's "autonomous mode," and is it safe?

It's an optional setting that lets Zlora accept or counter offers without asking you first, for people who'd rather not be interrupted. Even in autonomous mode, anything unusual — an offer that doesn't match what you asked for, or one that looks suspiciously good — always comes back to you.

Is my data safe?

We don't store payment card numbers at all — collected directly by Stripe, our payment processor, never through our own servers. Passwords are hashed, not stored as plain text. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture, including what's still a work in progress.

Does Zlora run a credit check on me?

Not currently, and not without being explicit about it first. For categories like car loans or mortgages, we ask for a self-reported credit range (Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor) just to calibrate expectations — that's not a real credit pull, and it doesn't affect your credit score.

What categories does Zlora support?

Home insurance, auto insurance, mortgages, and car purchases today — these are the categories where our discovery process reliably finds real, contactable providers nearby. More categories get added as that same approach proves out elsewhere.

Do providers see my name?

Only when there's an actual reason to. If a provider already has an existing account with you (your current internet provider, for example), they already know who you are the moment that account comes up — there's nothing to protect there. But providers being contacted purely for a comparison quote, with no existing relationship, never see a name at all — the inquiry is fully anonymous, unless you choose to include it. Whoever ends up winning does eventually learn who they're dealing with, since they need to actually set up or continue real service for you.

Is Zlora a licensed negotiator or broker?

Not currently. We're upfront about that — see the note in our footer. Some categories (insurance especially) may have licensing requirements we're still working through with legal counsel before operating broadly there.
